Animals are innately responsive to Reiki healing. A trusting animal will ask for Reiki by presenting themselves for a hands on Reiki session and when they are replete they move away. However, for anxious or sick animals, distant Reiki is always recommended. It it just as effective as a one-to-one session.
I prefer and recommend to combine animal Reiki sessions with communication. The animals receive healing and messages and I can better understand the problems and needs of the animal and can convey them to the human family or caregivers.
Reiki helps to speed up healing in sick animals and those recovering from accidents and surgery. It helps them to detox from drugs and it reduces side effects of medications and chemotherapy. It is calming to distraught stressed animals and supports depressed or re-homed animals.
Reiki is ideal for use with animals because it is gentle, non-invasive and doesn't require physical contact. It doesn't cause stress, discomfort, or pain, and yet yields powerful results. Animals respond intuitively to Reiki's power to support the healing of emotional or behavioral issues, physical illnesses and injuries.
For animals who are healthy, Reiki helps to maintain their health, enhances relaxation and provides an emotional sense of peace and contentment.
For animals who are ill, Reiki is a wonderful healing method as well as a safe complement to all other forms of medicine and healing. For example, Reiki can reduce the side effects of chemotherapy or support an acupuncture treatment.
For dying animals, Reiki is a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort, relief from pain, fear or anxiety. It eases the transition to death. Reiki is also a wonderful way to support a dying animal's family.
Animal Communication and the system of Reiki intertwine and interconnect. Although complementary in many ways, the two techniques are not identical: they have different aims.
With Animal Communication, the goal is to create a dialogue between the communicator and the animal: to listen to what the animal has to say as well as sharing information with the animal. Communicators also often provide feedback, if possible, to the animal's human companion about issues that may be going on. Animal communicators advocate for the animal, as well as giving support to the human companions by clarifying issues that are confusing or unknown. I have often known animals to suggest healing for their humans.
For a distance session I only need a photo of the animal and his/her name. Follow up is by Skype or E-mail.
